The newly constructed RHU-I Building at San Roque Poblacion, Nabua, Cam. Sur was blessed and inaugurated last September 13, 2010.

The new RHU-I building is now a lying-in clinic. Hopefully, the RHU will operate 24/7 in the future.

Tree Planting during the CSC 110th Anniversary

September 2010 marks the Civil Service Commission's 110th Year Anniversary, with the theme “in a RACE to Serve: Advancing Responsive, Accessible, Courteous and Effective Public Service". The Philippine Civil Service System was established in 1900 by Public Law No. 5, An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Island.
On its 110th milestone year, the CSC is giving due recognition to the invaluable contributions and sacrifices of the country’s public servants as they perform their sworn duty to work and do their share in nation-building.
Instead of celebrating the CSC's 110th Anniversary traditionally within the LGU-Nabua Centre, for the first time, our Mayor, Hon. Delia C. Simbulan, in cooperation with the department heads, decided it would be fitting to hold a tree planting activity in Duran, Nabua, Cam. Sur. The chosen site for the tree planting was beside the dump site, so as to provide healthier vegetation within the area. At least 200 employees planted 1500 trees. After the tree planting, a program was held at Punong Barangay Joel Beltran’s farm. The LGU-Nabua Music Ministry and Dancers performed numbers that were greatly appreciated by the crowd. We are definitely looking forward to next year’s activity.

RAINFORESTATION is the new reforestation

with the Sn. Vicente Gorong-Gorong Brgy. Council and residents
who helped with the Tree Planting

planting trees for the future of our land

hope the carabaos won't step on the newly planted trees

The Philippines is suffering from the widespread loss of ecosystem services, including biodiversity maintenance, carbon sequestration, watershed protection, and local communities’ ability to harvest timber and non-timber forest products.

The dominant approach to reforestation in the Philippines focuses on the planting of a handful of exotic timber species, like Gmelina, Mangium, and Mahogany, but has limited environmental and social benefits.

RAINFORESTATION aims to begin restoring the Philippine forests by using native tree species such as narra, acacia, “taluto” and the likes in order to bring back the natural vegetation.

The DENR-Province of Camarines Sur spearheaded a tree-planting activity in connection with the province’s Rainforestation Project last August 19, 2010 at Brgy. San Vicente Gorong-Gorong, in cooperation with LGU-Nabua, assisted by Punong Brgy. Diosdado Docot & Council.

The residents of the barangay participated in planting 2,000 trees. The said activity aims to lessen the instances of “natural disasters”, including flash floods, water shortages, and landslides.

Here’s hoping for a flood, erosion, and disaster free future.
